Maltitol is a type of sugar alcohol, (it does not actually contain alcohol) which is a reduced-calorie sweetener and common substitute for regular sugar. There are many benefits to adding maltitol to your frozen desserts, confections, snack foods and baked goods.

Congratulations to Danisco who was named “B.E.S.T. in Baking” by the International Bakery Industry Exposition (IBIE).
The IBIE’s “B.E.S.T. (Becoming Environmentally Sustainable Together) in Baking” program recognizes suppliers that foster energy conservation, reduced water usage, a decrease in landfill waste, healthy living and/or a reduction of the overall impact on the environment.
Danisco earned recognition for its Natamax B natural antimicrobial which inhibits mold growth on the surface of bakery products.

A Danisco-funded study published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, concludes that betaine supplementation increased power, force and maintenance, particularly in smaller upper-body muscle groups.
Previous studies have linked betaine to numerous performance-enhancing benefits, including less fatigue, greater general strength and greater endurance during recovery. Beyond its sports benefits, betaine has also been linked to heart, liver and kidney health. Betaine is also said to protect against the effects of dehydration by accumulating in cells and forming a monolayer of water around essential cell components.
